Get clean and healthy skin!
Dry skin can be an ongoing struggle. There are things to consider for washing dry skin. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple when you have dry skin. There are lots of considerations that can make your skin even drier.
Here’s how to wash dry skin the right way; your face will thank you for it.
- Use a hydrating cleanser
Use a cleanser that is gentle and can hydrate as well as clean. If your skin feels uncomfortably tight or itchy after cleansing, then your cleanser might be stripping your skin and leaving it dried out.
C2’s Daily Brightening Cleanser is gentle enough to use every day and can also give you some needed hydration. Ask for a sample today.
- Only wash your face at night
Don’t over-cleanse your face. Wash your face and night to take off the pollution, dirt, and makeup. Your skin secretes natural oils at night, so just rinse or wipe your face with water in the morning. Then apply all your C2 skincare goodies to start the day.
- Try cleansing with oil
Cleansing with oils can be an affordable and natural way to take care of dry skin. Select an oil (or blend of oils) that is fragrance-free, devoid of any added ingredients, and preferably organic.
Massage the oil onto your skin until it has broken down all of your makeup. Then rinse it all off with warm water or wipe (don’t scrub!) with a wet, warm washcloth. This will leave your skin feeling soft, supple, and hydrated.

- Select makeup removing wipes carefully
Makeup removing wipes can be wonderful when you can’t wash your face at night in the sink. You don’t want to go to bed with the pore-clogging makeup on your face. However, it’s not a great idea to use wipes every night because they don’t do the best job of cleaning your skin and it’s not gentle to dry skin. Most wipes contain alcohol or fragrance which can dry your skin out more. One tip is to use oil on your skin before to break things up and then use the wipe. Or put some oil on the wipe. In short, use makeup wipes once in a while.
- Be gentle to your skin
You never want to treat dry skin harshly. If your skin is so dry it becomes extremely dry and flaky, you might want to scrub it with exfoliators or a rough washcloth - DON’T. You might do more harm than good. Try this:
- Wet your face with warm water (never hot, as that will dry your skin out further) and then
- Lightly massage a hydrating cleanser into your skin.
- Lightly polish/scrub using a microfiber cloth or a soft brush to help take off the dead skin
- Rinse your face and pat skin dry with a soft towel—never scrub or rub your face dry.
