Cleansing Normal Skin

by C2 Marketing |

Normal Skin:

Cleaning your skin everyday is important to rid your face of pollutants, makeup or bacteria -- even if you have normal skin. Your skin still needs mild daily exfoliation to help clear the pores and allow the skincare products to penetrate into the skin.

  1. Use a hydrating cleanser
  2. Only wash your face at night
  3. Exfoliate 2-4 times per month
  4. Select makeup removing wipes carefully
  5. Be gentle to your skin

  1. Use a hydrating cleanser

Use a cleanser that is gentle and can hydrate as well as clean. If your skin feels uncomfortably tight or itchy after cleansing, then your cleanser might be stripping your skin and leaving it dried out.

C2’s Daily Brightening Cleanser is gentle enough to use everyday and can also give you some needed hydration.

  1. Only wash your face at night

Don’t over cleanse your face. Wash your face and night to take off the pollution, dirt and makeup. Your skin secretes natural oils at night, so just rinse or wipe your face with water in the morning. Then apply all your C2 skincare goodies to start the day.

  1. Exfoliate your skin 2-4 times per month

Even normal skin needs dead skin cells exfoliated to help keep you skin glowing and to also help skincare products penetrate and absorb into your skin. Use a physical or chemical exfoliating cleanser.

Try our C2 Exfoliating cleanser.

  1. Select makeup removing wipes carefully

Makeup removing wipes can be wonderful when you can’t wash your face at night in the sink. You don’t want to go to bed with the pore-clogging makeup on your face.  However, it’s not a great idea to use wipes every night because they don’t do the best job of cleaning your skin and it’s not gentle to dry skin. Most wipes contain alcohol or fragrance which can dry your skin out more. One tip is to use oil on your skin before to break things up and then use the wipe. Or put some oil on the wipe. In short, use makeup wipes once in a while.

  1. Be gentle to your skin

You never want to treat dry skin harshly. If your skin is so dry it becomes extremely dry and flaky, you might want to scrub it with exfoliators or a rough washcloth - DON’T. You might do more harm than good. Try this:

  •  Wet your face with warm water (never hot, as that will dry your skin out further) and then
  • Lightly massage a hydrating cleanser into your skin.
  • Lightly polish/scrub using a microfiber cloth or a soft brush to help take off the dead skin
  • Rinse your face and pat skin dry with a soft towel—never scrub or rub your face dry.
  • Start your C2 skincare routine
