“Shetler in Place” and lockdown is spreading throughout the world. COVID-19 has become a global pandemic - the last thing we want to do is panic. Take this time at home and pamper yourself with some at-home spa tips
Get started to have your at-home spa.
Relax with an Aromatherapy shower
Create a spa experience - aromatherapy shower. Grab your favorite essential oil (eg. Lavender, orange, or eucalyptus) and add a few drops to a washcloth or sponge. Place this on the floor in front of you as you shower to allow the steam to release the scents.
Stimulate your body and rid yourself of toxins and dead skin.
Regular exfoliation is important for removing dead cells which can accumulate on the skin’s surface, leading to dull, dry skin. For a nourishing body scrub, mix together some salt or sugar and a body oil (eg C2 Ageless body oil or Ojas balancing oil). Use 1:1 oil to salt. You can also add in some manuka honey, which is beneficial for both dry and acne-prone skin types, and some essential oils. Use the scrub in the shower, rubbing in circular motions over the body and paying attention to rough spots such as the elbows.
Give your feet some love! A refreshing foot bath and mask.
Lockdown is keeping us at home but we can still get out there and take a walk, hike or run. After come back and pamper your feet.
Our feet are often neglected, but they deserve a treat from time to time, particularly after a long run or training session. For an invigorating treat for your feet, mix together equal quantities of oatmeal, cornmeal, sea salt and a body oil (C2’s Ageless body oil or C2’s Ojas balancing body oil). Add a few tbsps of aloe vera gel if you have it on hand. First, soak your feet in a water bath and then apply the mask to feet and massage in. Leave for a few minutes then wash off.
Steaming your face is a great way to cleanse your pores — helping to promote clear and glowing skin.
For a steam treatment at home, fill a bowl with boiled water and leave to cool slightly so that it is not hot enough to burn your skin. Add a couple of drops of essential oils, such as tea tree oil for acne-prone skin, lavender oil for oily skin or rose absolute oil for dry skin. Steam your face for a few minutes by leaning over the bowl with a towel covering your head to trap the steam. You can follow a steam treatment with a purifying clay mask or follow up with C2 Skincare primer, serum, and moisturizer.
Give yourself a purifying facial!
For the ultimate at-home facial, begin by cleansing. Follow this up with a soothing, moisturizing or exfoliating mask. Contact us for a free “sneak peak” sample of our Exfoliating Jojoba Seed Mask, which will be launched in April.
Finally, pamper yourself with a facial massage using a natural oil such as the C2 Ageless Facial Oil.
Apply the oil to your hands then massage your face using gently upward circular motions. This will help to nourish the skin and boost circulation, giving a vibrant and soft complexion. You can also give yourself a lymphatic drainage massage to decrease puffiness.
