Want Long, Beautiful Hair? Here’s How to Get It!

Long hair is one of the most desired beauty looks by women. Some people are lucky enough to have fast growing, beautiful hair, but most people have hair that stops growing at a certain length. If you are looking to get long, luscious locks, check out these tips! Remember though, getting long hair does take time, so don’t give up after a few weeks.

1) Minimize the use of heat and brushing

This one can be difficult if you style your hair often, but laying off of the heat is extremely important when it comes to getting longer hair. Try and find ways to make your natural hair manageable, that way you can skip the curling iron or hair straightener for a month or two. Brushing also damages your hair, so try and brush only when needed.

2) Only wash your hair when necessary – Preferably twice a week

Shampoo strips the natural oils from your hair that keep it healthy, so you don’t want to be using it 6-7 days a week. Try to wash your hair only 1-3 times a week depending on how oily it gets. Also, when shampooing, only use it on your scalp. This will protect the rest of your strands from being stripped of the essential oils.

3) Give yourself coconut oil massages

Massage coconut oil into your scalp for about 5 minutes and then let it sit for another 10 minutes before washing it out. The fatty-acids and vitamins in coconut oil are great for your scalp and hair. When you have a healthy scalp, your hair can grow longer and thicker.

4) Take Biotin

There are endless supplements out there that say they will make your hair grow longer, but the essential vitamin you need is biotin. Biotin deficiencies are what cause hair loss, so taking Biotin promotes hair growth. Bonus – it’s also great for your skin and nails!

5) Rinse your hair with cold water after you shower

Hot water can damage your hair, while cold water is great for it! By rinsing your hair in cold water before you get out of the shower, you are preventing moisture loss, breakage, and heat damage.
